These wont fit a slant off the shelf. Anybody try to adapt one for a slant?

Those are interesting, but why not using a regular pusher-type pump back by the fuel tank?

If its fairly easy to adapt the EFI model, it would eliminate fuel tank mods, return line, inertia switch and limit the length of high the high pressure line

I see your point, but (1) I don't see what tank mods you'd need, with an external-mount electric fuel pump, and (2) I would not want to build an EFI system without a return line. And how are we going to prime/pressurise the system before startup with this pump you point at? (And no, I could be wrong but I don't think any of the models you point at could easily be adapted to a slant-6.)

Maybe checking with Al Toews would be wise -- his "Big Red" supercharged EFI 225 '60 Dart is a fantastic machine.

I'll echo what Dan said about pressurizing the system at startup. Jerry tried one on the shop Nova, and getting it started wasn't easy. They're not kidding about these being race only pieces; they're not very easy to drive.

The Charger Daytona that I'd helped out with at Bonneville used a belt driven fuel pump. Had a similar issue with priming; they used a small electric pump for startup.

If I were to do the Dart's fuel system all over again, I'd try sticking a Walbro (or possibly Aeromotive Stealth) pump on the end of my sender pick-up tube.

I've collected the parts for a Ford EFI system. My car has a small turbo now, but that will change after the injection is working. I'm leaning toward Fords two pumps in series delivery system. This pump:

In conjunction with an appropriately sized in-line to supply siemens 60# injectors.
I don't want fuel delivery to be my weak link, nor do I want the problems associated with too much pump. Any advice?

How much power do you want to make, and how quiet do you want the pump system to be? If a street cruiser/driver, then some pumps are noisy.

I don't want to do anything that would shut the door on 500 HP.

At Drag Week this year there was a guy there with one of these pumps on his BBM. It crapped out on the first day.

OK, you need a fairly large pump. I calculated that the walbro/MSD inline pump on my Dart is good to just over 400. I hope to make 360-400 reliable crank HP with that car for universal street use.

I hit the jackpot and found this series pump assembly at the junkyard for 16.00. Its from an 88 Mercedes.

I'll try to use a stock Ford in tank to prime them.

i also found a Volvo solo unit for the same price, so i grabbed it, too.
