My apologies if this has been covered in detail previously. I'm posting from my phone in the middle of a spontaneous engine work party and didn't want to try an exhaustive forum search with my thumbs.

Should 225 pushrods have holes all the way through them for oiling purposes? My old pushrods had holes in both ends, and the rocker arm adjustment nuts (for adjusting valve lash) also have through-holes. Many moons ago, I somehow bent both pushrods on #1 cylinder while driving on the freeway and bought a new set of pushrods from NAPA. The new ones appeared to be much heavier/stronger. Because I was a lazy college student, I only replaced the two that were bent.

Now, while I'm doing a bunch of other work, I figured I would install the rest of these heavy-duty pushrods. Except I took a look at the and realized that they do not have the end holes that the old ones have. Is this a problem?

If you have solid lifters and adjustable rockers you will have solid pushrods.

If you have hydraulic lifters and non-adjustable rockers arms you will have hollow pushrods.

Great, thanks! I have solid lifters and adjustable rockers, so we're good to go. I have no idea why those hollow pushrods were installed. Maybe that's why two of them gave out.
