I dont know if this made and difference in the mixture-mine runs fine.But the idiot that had it before me actually installed the venture cluster up side down then cut the ends of the tube so the choke would clear. I polished them up and flipped then over. Dont know if it made or makes a difference since I dont know how it ran before. Pulls from 700 rpm thru 4000 rpm with no dead spots or hesitations-once warm since i run a manual choke and keep it off and manual trans with 2.97 rear end and 29 inch tires.Did have to lean it down going from 4000 feet of elevation and dry southwest to 800 feet with "humid" midwest air.

Nearly everyone has the 10% ethanol swill. So this will lean out the carb too.

I never had black pipes. Plugs always looked good.
