Thanks Richard,

That is a very good video. I guess I will build a fixture and check them out the "right" way. I appreciate your helping me to learn!

Rick
The main thing to remember Rick is to make the portion of the fixture that the B/E is supported by a bearing or something that is not binding, that will help it repeat, and the same for when you flip it around and do the small end(which really isn't necessary on an inline, the total weight is all the crank recognizes since it doesn't utilize bobweights to balance them). Also, you can remove weight from the piston by using a carbide burr(for aluminum) and grind on the pin support bosses on the underside of the piston. Piston weights are a lot closer than they used to be, before it wasn't uncommon to have a 7-8 gram variation between several in the same set, now they can be only 1-2 grams between them.

Oh so true! I hope it runs 13.50-13.70 when I'm done this year. We shall see. When I talked to Mike about a new head, maybe for next winter, he asked me how fast I wanted to go. I told him my lifetime goal would be to run a 12.99. He said, Ok I will put you down as 12.99. Sounded pretty good when he said that!!  Super nice Guy to talk to also.

Mine were all within 1G. I did not touch them.

It's a sickness, A SLANT sickness,Ric, just yankin' your chain a bit. If all goes well We are looking foward to making a few races at M/D this summer.
Greg,Rumor has it that there may not be a Mopar C.G.M. race at Pittsburgh due to new people running the track........

I stopped by the machine shop Thursday and picked up the old rear cam bearing. I wanted to keep that for checking cams hole alignment. The block was in the tank getting cooked as we talked and the crank should be done by mid week. So he hoped to have everything done by the 18th. Wow, that is ahead of schedule.

I got all the intake port roofs done on the head. Knocked down all the guides and have the bowls roughed in. A couple more hours on the intakes and they will be done. Then it is over to the exhuast ports.

I got all the intake ports and runners done. Now I can move on to the exhausts.

Talked to the machine shop and the block is bored, decked .005 just to clean it up and the cam bearings are in. Just waiting on the crank, and it can all be brought home.
