Wedcome to the board!

:D

There are a lot of things that can contribute to this.

First off, do you have a place to work on your truck?

I'm going to assume the truck is stock? Lean burn computer and such?
There are some parts that can be suspect here, but without testing them, we can't point to any one part and say, "Replace that one!"

You mentioned that you replaced the carb. With what? Remans tend to run the gammut from lousy to worse. Did you keep the carb you had, or turn it in as a core?

We have some great lean burn fix experts here. I've fixed one, so that puts me on the bottom of the heap. (It was a successful fix by the way.)

Do you have a factory service manual? An FSM is a great investment!

Thanks for the reply !! I have a place to work on the truck. The truck is totally stock with the electronic spark control..mounted on the air cleaner. The old carb basically did the same thing. Stalled constantly , hard to start , couldnt take your foot off the gas while coming to a stop. I replaced it with a reman. The day I replaced it, the truck ran perfect. I mean idled perfect, plenty of power, started like a champ. A few days later , maybe 40 miles later, complete opposite. Wouldnt start, stalled constantly, wont idle, rough driving. Thats where I'm at today. I have changed, Carb, fuel pump, fuel filter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires. now what ??

Hi 1984BrownW150.
Aside from the fact that your engine ran perfectly after replacing the carb, I have experienced the same problems once, and it turned out that an old coil was the problem. Since your engine seem to be in a reasonably good condition mechanically, all it takes to run is fuel and spark! Slowly working through all the parts providing you with those two things will give you a solution. In the 'engine' section, there is a FAQ that will provide you with most of the info needed to make your engine run.
