will it hurt to run the engine with the oil pressure relief valve sticking if so could i fix this with out removing the pump from the car

Do you have too much oil pressure or none?

Too much will do a lot less damage than none.

Depending on what chassis the motor is in will determine the ease of getting to the plug. Some are way easier than others.

its a 69 valiant i know i have oil pressure but the dummy light comes on in about ready to put a gague on it and do away with the light

The pressure switch could be bad and giving you a false low pressure alarm.

I would tee-in the oil pressure sender so that the light still works. This would give you an immediate warning if you lost oil pressure.

im running a puralator 300001 the yellow one, friday im putting the oil pressure gauge in the Valiant
