Hey guys
Just wondering if anyone knows the size of the bolts that hold the intake and exhaust manifolds together. Theyre missing from my super six setup.

Is this the info you need?

Manifold set to Head Studs : 5/16-18 x 1/2, 5/16-24 x 3/4, 1¾ total, use sealer into head.

Sorry, I think you need this size: Thread size 5/16-18, 1/2 (wrench size)

Those are the three bolts that keep both manifolds together.

The middle one is a stud that you use a flange nut on and the other two outboard are bolts...but they don't make the right length bolts that have threads up to the point you need...so you get two choices:

Buy the right length bolts and thread them another 1/2" with a tap and die set...or you can get a small length of all thread and nut and washer both ends (I like to use a version called D-8...i have yet to have it seize if swapping manifolds regularly.)

I was planning on using a die and pulling the threads up further if I needed to. Guess I do need to haha.
The bolts in the current set up might be okay, they were new a year or two ago...I'll have to see once my gaskets get in and I start actually doing everything.

I got tired of burning that gasket of the midle!!! So, I melded a piece of iron to the top of the exhaust manifold, covering the hole...
End of the problem.
When I took manifolds out I discovered that the last mechanic had cut the bolt inside (the one nearer the head) and that why I kept burning gaskets.

Ah thats no good! I've never had issues with that one burning out but my exhaust pipe flange gasket ALWAYS burns out. It's the most frustrating thing.

Tell me! I got almost crazy with that thing!!! Must be the wrong aligment or the manifold weight, but I had many problems with that midle gasket... I used tons of leaks sealer.
In the other side of the world, got the same problems! Isn´t that reconforting?? :lol:

I'm gonna do my best to avoid the block off plate. I need that manifold heat on cold Canadian mornings! :P
I think I have a makeshift block off plate on my current set up, actually. I don't remember if I ended up putting one there or not. I'm thinking yes cause I'm having very poor cold temperature operation right now.

Thats right, in my country is common to block the exhaust off, or to use silens headers without the manifold heat. We dont need that because we dont have such extreme cold weather. That gasket is a real headache sometimes!
