Car Model:
76 Dart, 3 on the tree. shifter works fine in the up and down throws.

Pulling in the center of the 'H"l...very stiff. especially cold. spring return to the 2-3 slot seems to work.

Question: how do I lubricate or/and adjust the resistance of the column shifter lever? car is full assembled.....

Car has been sitting for a few years - inside thankfully

thanks

Have you checked the rods and bushings at the end of the steering column?

Find the rods and linkages at the bottom of the steering column, in the engine compartment. Clean those parts of years of built up grease, dirt and dog hair first. Carb or brake cleaner will cut thru that stuff,
but do it outdoors. The fumes are not friendly to living creatures!
Then squirt some white lithium spray grease on the linkage. Same procedure on the shift rods on the tranny. Look for broken or missing bushings, too.
