I have the factory shop manual for my S6, manual trans Dart sport.

In the specifications section, under ignition timing, its says to see the label in the engine compartment. WTF??? You would think the factory manual would list timing spec.s....but no!

So: what is the initial and total advance for 76 Dart 225 with manual trans, no ac, no ps? What is the idle setting?

thnks

Juice lifters don't show up on the scene until the 1981 model year, so unless you have a truck motor (hopefully it's still the original factory forged crank unit).

Next question, what distributor do you have in there?

3874714? A-body Manual Transmission
Section 8 page 214 6BTDC @ 750 RPM....that being said since it's a short slot dizzy, if not required to smog and be 100% OEM set...go for 10-12BTDC and check your carb's settings for best vaccuum...

3874598? A-body Automatic Transmission (except Canada then it's for the manual tranny...LOL)
Same page 2BTDC @ 750 RPM, this is an 11R governor distributor so if not required to be all original try 8-10BTDC and see if it likes it better...

She was running with some valve tapping.... and had a slight miss. We got is warmed up a bit and removed the valve cover to set the valves. They were all loose, but 1 intake pushrod on #3, jumped off the adjuster!!!! No damage to the it luckily.

We set the lash to 010 on the intake and 020 on exhaust. She just ticks away happily...smooth as silk now. She is running S W E E T ! ! ! !

Rechecked the timing: we are now at 8 BTDC at 625 rpm.
