Hi all, just wondering what carbs people have found to be best on the Offy dual intake? The engine will be a mild streeter in a 63 auto wagon. It has a Holley 1920 on it now which is in very good condition, should I just search for another decent matching number 1920 (I guess that would be my preference) or go for another make/model carb? Thanks again

I was told today by a carb guy to only go 1 bbl Carter's ... So who is running what on their offy 2 x1 intakes? Holley 1920's , Carter's,small Japanese car 2 bbls, 1100 Dominators?

Years ago there was a guy modding those intakes for twin Weber 2bbls. Proline?

Two small primaries sounds good, then the kick of the bigger secondaries!

Lots of those intakes out there. Most are shop art?

Thanks Rug Trucker... I saw an old post about that setup, looked sweet ! I read a few folks had bogging probs when everything was opened up, was curious if anyone had run a progressive sec carb? The guy I spoke to said a single weber on a 2 bbl intake would be the best all round deal( he's prob right) but I would really like to run the offy for the wow factor old school look. I was toying with dual tbi but if I can get a good dual carb setup it would be my preference.... Failing that I guess it's shop art!! Thanks

Hey thanks for that.... We're they 1920's? How did the front carb go for hood clearance, was there enough for a stock filter housing? I'm waiting to hear back from a carb guy over here, he has nos holley 1 bbl ( model to be confirmed) and he has dgv Webers as well.... Tempting

This last year I met a guy at the car show that was running two 1920's on his Offy. The linkages looked great and worked well. The car ran real nice with #54 jets. Nice set up! :D

He really enjoys driving his, no problems with syncing them.

Thanks for the info Ted, it's great to hear people have had good success with this setup.I found yet another carb guy over here,he is actually fairly helpful and I am exploring options now,he is going to get back to me but at the moment I may even go for Weber DGEV carbs, but the other option is a pair of NOS Holleys,he isn't sure what models they are,but he has some in stock the way back and he mentioned he used them regularly on 1barrel slants,so I'm hoping they are 1920's or 1945's....will keep you all posted. Thanks for the replies!

The 1920's are much easier to tune....and work on.

Thanks Ted, will let you know what type he has.... The 1920's "look" the part as well.He claims to have "a lot" of these Holleys in storage , it may be a good source for NOS 1 bbl carbs if they end up being the right models, and if the price is right!

Well after much research and thought I decided to go dual Webers.....why not go all the way I say! I have ordered two rebuilt genuine 32/36 DFEV carbs, these are the progressive linkage type and have clockwise rotation opening which should help the linkage setup I have in mind. The supplier thinks the setup will be in the ball park for jetting, but I intend to set it all up on the stock, tired engine in the wagon and when I'm satisfied its going to run OK I will then start the resto/ rebuild process....it will be a few weeks before I get the carbs, then its making time to set it up....I will keep you all posted!
