This carb is for sale on Craigslist near me. Can anyone identify it?
Desireable? Undesirable?

My car is a 1974 Dodge dart with 225

1974 Holley 1945 (#6723) w/ dashpot for manual trans.

'74 is the first year 1945 were introduced, and I've seen a lot of people here saying that's they're junk. You would prefer the 76+ models (better design, jetting, etc.) or maybe a late Holley 1920.

That said, if the price is right you should grab it for parts ;)

(Oh and PM me if you buy it and don't need the manual trans stuff, I'm looking desperately for the dashpot and bracket)

Can the manual trans stuff be removed and the carb used as a auto trans carb? The price IS right, if I can get the guy to ever answer me. And yes, you can have the manual trans stuff off it IF I snag it.

Yes, manual and auto trans. carburetor are basically the same, differences are made by how there are calibrated.
(Lot of useful infos in the repair manual and video posted in the Carburetor operation & repair informationCarburetor operation & repair information thread).

Just to be sure: You're not planning to replace the original carb in your car (assuming it is) with one in unknow condition that should only be used as a cheap parts source?

If the price is that good, buy it and rebuild it just for the learning experience. Then (maybe) you could sell it for what you paid for it and the kit. Just another idea....

If you want this to replace one that is running, even poorly, I'd say keep shopping! What carb is on your engine now? Maybe someone on this board has one in better shape, which would simplify the swap.

I second that.

Finding a NOS replacement could also be a great alternative to a rebuilt.
I just got me two brand new Holley economasters (one off ebay for far less money than remanufactured units usually sells).
