Foster's joined LKQ a while back and they bought up a series of yards between cali and vancouver on the I-5 corridor, we have one in South Salem which only carries post 1992 vehicles (great for min-starters...but not much else). Be prepared as they establish prices off the web and include service fees in the pricing (unless they want the car 'gone' then you can deal).

There is also a U-pull-it out near the sandy junction that has quite a few slant six cars (all the F bodies already are picked clean of super six parts), still a fair amount of late-60's Darts, and early 70's valiants to work with.

been Daily Driving the Dart for the last couple of weeks, and fine tuning the Damned pushbutton transmission(I think I have it right now) I don't know if I love it yet, but I like it alot!

hey dan, question for you, i also have the push button tranny and my reverse button fell off in there...i managed to get the stripped bolt out to remove the panel but now i can't get the wiper button off.

how do i remove the wiper knob?

then it looks like once i get in there i am going to need to take off another layer of panel.

any advice on fixing that button before i rip it all apart? after, of course, i get the wiper knob removed.
merrymopar, the wiper KNOB is attached to the shaft of the switch with a small Allen setscrew. Then the bezel that holds the switch can be unscrewed the same as the one for the light switch.
I STRONGLY suggest disconnecting the battery negative cable, because there some bare conductors on some of the wiper switch parts, depending on the options.

Once the switches are out and the Park knob (another setscrew) is off, you can remove the screws holding the pushbutton unit to the dashboard. This drawing may help.Image

Once you have the control unit loose you can see into the bracket that the buttons work in. The buttons press onto their operating rods EXCEPT the NEUTRAL button, which has a hook into a hole in its lever. DO NOT PULL ON THE NEUTRAL BUTTON! If you break that little hook off I have no idea where you might find another neutral button. It may make it easier to reset the reverse button on its rod if you shine a bright flashlight into the bezel so you can seehow the other buttons are attached to their rods.

I hope that helps!

I just take 212 out of town, the yard is at the junction of 212 and 26 outside of Sandy is he last place on the left...miss it and your going to Sandy (definately not Wildcat).

I called Fosters, desperately looking for the p/s pump and brackets I need. The fast talking Oriental sounding person I spoke with said they have nothing older than the 90's. Another one bites the dust!

62ragtop, thanks, that was exactly the info i needed. i know it's not as simple as it would seem. i remember a lot of swearing last time those panels came off, after the accelerator bolt got stuck and i fried out my wiring at division and 26th, lol!!! another flat tow story.

wiper: knob
transmission/heat: buttons

clearly i need tools i do not have. but i remember being lectured over and over to never ever screw up the buttons, they had to be just so and treated very carefully. have already gotten used to no reverse for now, so motor mount has become top priority. it's making my engine jump and the alternator is taking a beating.

also...and this is funny in a 'full circle oh the irony' way, i went through hell with the carb early on. that flat tow story was me pulled by a plymouth valiant from gresham schucks to sandy. on 26 at about 70 MPH. in rush hour. i've been through some scary stuff but THAT is in top 5. so anyway it turns out the stupid valve cap had come off....i mean my carb blew up, caught fire, several times on the side of the highway and rolling, literally no engine in oncoming lane down to schucks LOL!!! then the flat tow out of there...well guess what, the same reason she died on me in this original post, right after i bought her back exactly 3 years after i first bought her. is because of the same damned cap!!! she started puking smoke out of her carb and dying.

thankfully raydart spotted the cap and it's fixed now. should have been the first damn thing i checked.
