I am getting a fresh rebuilt trans with my new car,its a 904 but its from a truck can i make it go in my duster?

Ill find out,he says it has a different mainshaft(he dosnt know if this is right) and i dont know much about trannys.

Thereare a couple of differences in the mainshaft that I remember.
The 1st pertains to number of splines, and although I can't recall the numbers, I think it happened around the mid '60's when they did away with the rear pump/push button actuated shift, and they went to a larger TC nub that fits the back of the crank. The only other difference I know of is when they shaved the splines the 1st inch or so of it which would tell me that you have a lockup tranny. No biggie as long as you get the right torque converter.
