Reading the thread about replacing the external transmission filter and adding the dacron internal filter, discussion centers around have a pan deep enough to allow the internal filter.
I am somewhat confused ( not an unusual state for me anymore) because it is mentioned that the pan needs a circular depression to allow the filter to fit. A new pan apparently came online in 64-65 to address this.
The pan I currently have in my 63 904 has the depression but no drain plug as you can see in the picture along with the depth of the pan.
Can anyone verify that the current pan will work or that I should get the new pan with drain plug and magnet and the new gasket?
