Mopar vans are unibody too. There is a stamped steel C channel frame spot welded to the bottom of the vehicle, but vans aren't like trucks with a truly separate frame. The 32 gallon plastic gas tank was used from 71 through at least the early 90s. Every Ddge van i have ever owned, worked on, or seen had the plastic tank. I was even rear ended in a 79 Dodge van with the plastic tank and it was fine. I will concede that the van probably has a stinger "cage" around the gas tank than the average passenger car.

I'm pretty sure my '72 B300 had a metal tank and it wasn't anything close to 32 gallons. I know this as I ran it completely dry once. The interchange on that tank ends at 1974.
