I have a factory front sway bar that could fix that roll a bit...you just have to weld in the angles on the LCA's and bolt it in...

Looks like fun though.

Hmmm,... I told Chase we could put some thicker torsion bars in there I've had for years and haven't used... get a sway bar...

He said,"I want to paint her first!"

Form over function... Where have I gone wrong..?

Well give him credit, he is holding off on the neon undercarriage illumination, and a fart can…

No underglow on this one... His older brother put it on the SRT-4...

With the headers and side exit exhaust Stella doesn't need a fart can.

I kinda figured this was comin' with all of our carb issues and not making much progress on Stella...

Chase informed me last night that he wants to sell her and get something newer with better defrost, A/C, etc.

I drove her to work today and a guy at the gas pump asked about her.

I told him she's his for the same $2,700 we bought her for. We'll see...

(No Cookie,... You can't have the quarter panels... )

It's all good.

He has been a sport about it and we've had some good bonding because of it.

No regrets. When we go back to Germany next summer and he goes off to college he'll want something he doesn't have to fiddle with anyway.

I've had several tire kickers look her over, but no serious buyers...

Wednesday I tore the 1 barrel apart for the rebuild. Maybe this weekend I'll do the swaperoo...

I've been driving Stella the last couple weeks and Chase has been driving the SRT-4...

Interesting gas mileage differences... :?

SRT-4 went from 23-25 down to 17-20

Stella went from 8-9 up to 14+

I still plan to swap back on the 1 barrel and stock exhaust. Maybe I'll get it back up into the higher teens again.

Rob, you should be doing better than that even with a 2 barrrel. My trucks mileage did not change at all with the two barrel swap. On the road I get 18+ fully loaded and running 65-70MPH

Rick

PS - Sounds like your son drives like you used to!!

I have usually seen as good, or sometimes better, MPG with a BBD vs. any 1bbl carb. Adjust rod step up under the little cover and that can make a significant difference.

Lou

Since we're selling it I'm not going to bother with a 2 barrel upgrade. I'm just going to put it back to stock and move on.

That 390 is just too much carb for the stock engine.

You know it's bad when the girl working the drive-thru complains that your car makes her eyes burn!

Whoops! Forgot you had a 4 barrel on it.

Although there has been a few Covalt vehicles with stock engines and 4 barrels that got pretty decent mileage. Sorry, none of them were Holleys.

I went out to Ohio Valley 1/8th mile track for test & tune Wednesday evening to see if the pig rich Holley and Clifford manifold would make any difference in ET before I swap back to the 1 barrel...

They cancelled because it looked like rain. :(

It's been raining non stop all day today too...

I've got the 1 barrel carb rebuilt and ready to re-install along with the stock intake and exhaust manifolds.

I spent the weekend cleaning the garage and working on the Challenger engine instead.
