Hey all, I am in need of some good wiper arms or tension springs for my 64 Dodge pick-up (new rig). I was up at Wildcat and they didn't have any for sale, however Ed kindly loaned me 1 from his personal rig. I took it to a spring manufacturer and they will give me a bid in the next few days.

2 questions... Is there a current source for these springs? I will buy 3 pairs, or second question, Is anyone else in need of these springs??

I will post the price as soon as I get the bid.

Cheers,
BT

I bought the generic wiper arms from Rock Auto for my '64 Valiant. I then modified them by removing the solid bar portion tht contain the ugly clip ends and replacing them with the parts I removed from the stock arms.

They function perfectly, but of course they wouldn't work in a restoration.

Thanks 64 Convert and VDART. I will share the information.

I went to True Value Hardware and bought the closest spring I could find. I think it will work, but the tension is noticeably less. This concerns me since I'll be using the truck for harvest and rain is the norm in Oregon.

Does your replacement spring work well at high speeds in the rain?

Thanks again!

Lobster

Update, I found a site with a wide range of affordable springs. http://www.centuryspring.com/

Thanks for the link! Please follow-up with a report on which spring you select and how well it functions. It is a challenge to find one that is strong get fits in the assembly.

The spring manufacturer got back to me yesterday and it was super expensive. If the order was big enough we could get the cost to $20 a set?? Century Spring sounds like the way to go. They have a selector in which you enter the specs of your spring, and you will get a very close match. Their pricing is reasonable.
