ok here goes nothing i use to run these alot when i messed around with vws a long time ago

dc mean double throat

v mean verticle

o means horizontal

i means a downdraft

e means diecast

f mean ford or ferrari depending on where sold

v carb with a power valve

it seems that weber never used any rhyme or reason when it came to naming carbs and it was done in italian

ihave a chart that shows thew following for the letters you listed

dgav is a 2 vertical throat 2 shaft progressive carb

idf is a 2 vertical throat 1 shaft center float carb

hope that helps a little the other two may be newer carbs not shown on my chart

bp

Thanks, that helps. It seems most people use the DGAV or the DGEV ( I had it wrong in my original post) for the slant six.

Thanks

Here is what Chris from Proline told me.

"The DFEV is a modified carb, usually with some sore of Idle stop solenoid
for new cars and smaller motors.

A DGEV is a standard progressive with electric choke, DGV= manual choke, DGAV = Water choke-

DCNVH's are a newer style carb and are synchronis performance carbs- they are great carbs, but they do not carry adapters for them to bolt on
anything. All the set-ups using the DCNV's are custom machined intakes. x2 and x3 just means how many are in the kit."

Thanks Chris
