I'm hoping to paint the engine in my '66 Dart soon and want to make sure it looks stock. So I'm looking for a list of factory color codes for the slant through various years. Also, a source for the correct paint would be great.

Also, was everything painted the same color? Currently my intake and alternator bracket are black. And finally, the exhaust, what did the factory do, and what are my best options for a factory-ish look?

Factory for the early slants the intake was the same color of the engine.

I believe both alternator brackets were black and the exhaust wasn't painted.

Its a good question, hopefully someone here has an answer. The stuff that claims to be Chrysler Red does look orange and when you find an original early slant you can see the factory color was a deep red, almost a blood red.

Yep, it's orange. I did run across a forum later on where a guy did his engine and it was pretty darn close to the right color, if I can find that again I'll post it here.
