Lately I have been looking for some slant 6 parts to spruce it up. I picked up a 4 barrel intake a few weeks back and now looking for some headers and carb and a cam. I came across this craigslist ad and to me looks like a good deal. I am just looking for some guidance. Thanks for looking. I am doing this for a Challenger. Will the headers fit my car? I car has a single exhaust and notice the headers have two pipes and was wondering if this is a problem.

If they fit the late A-body, they should fit an E body with no problems.
Make sure to build your engine for best torque since it's a little heavier than the rest of our cars.

Good Luck,

nice! I just put a /6 '70 Barracuda in my garage today :) I'll be doing the same thing (I've been reading/researching in anticipation for over a year). /6 headers are mostly build for a-bodies, so no issues with our bigger engine bays. lots of room for a turbo in the future too ;)

I've been getting my /6 advice here and forabodiesonly.com, hit up cuda-challenger.com for e-body advice :)

Perhaps we should be asking Chongo what year of Challenger.

How about it, Chongo; Is it a 70-74, E-body Chally, or a late 70's-early 80's, Mitsubishi-built Chally?

Roger

Says "building" so who knows. People have put slants into plenty of things that didn't come with one.... Simca, Dakota... could have sworn someone had stuffed a slant into a similar subcompact (maybe a colt?).

Your memory hasn't failed you, yet. It's currently stagnant, but it's around.

It is a 72 Challenger. Original engine runs great still has some leaks but I am trying to collect parts so when i decide to get some more fun out of the engine I will.

Do you guys recommend getting a cam and lifter kit? Seems I can never find one on craigslist and ebays ect. What about the carb? Is a 600 cfm pretty good to have for mild performance? Also what about rebuilding the engine first? Do you guys recommend that first?

I have no technical input but wanted to say "Hats Off" to you guys for keeping the slant 6 in your E bodies. It is so tiresome seeing 440 or 340 powered eBodies built from perfectly fine slant cars. The worlds doesn't need another copy AAR 'Cuda….
