Just saying that brazing, to add material to provide full contact from the cap ID to the back of the bearing shell is a suitable repair, you need full contact for heat transfer, the braze will have a higher strength than the bearing shell.

Rick, sooner or later I will scatter my long rod turd. We should be able to salvage one rod.
