I'm acid-cleaning my 170 block right now with about a 50/50 Muriatic Acid/Water solution. Hopefully it's not too strong.

The acid slurry is ready to be flushed from the block. In order to effectively neutralize the released acid, about how much washing soda would I need to use? Figure about 3/4 of a gallon of acid was used to a gallon+ of H2O. The head wasn't on the block - plugged up all the holes as best I could to do this exercise so the volume of the engine is reduced from the levels stated in the FSM.

Once I've neutralized the acid from the block, about what ratio of soda to water would one use to neutralize what's left in the water jacket?

I'd just add baking soda (cheap at Costco) until it stops fizzing......
