I'm pretty sure you can get rebuilt longblocks at kragen or your local parts store.

A few years ago chyrsler dealers were still offering them as well for $1700. Worth a shot.

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it. You can buy remanufactured engines but I'm not sure how fully assembled they are. If you have a need for an engine though many junkyards have a service section that would do a swap for you and considering the durability of the /6 as long as it doesn't smoke it shouldn't be a problem My engine's a testament to the /6's strength, it's leaking oil, the valve cover's benter at the top, and the exhaust manifolds not only cracked but looks as though when I finally end my long quest for manifolds like I may have to replace every screw on my intake and exhaust manifolds. Yet the engine sounds great and I have all the confidence in the world that the thing won't die on me as I make my slow quest for parts to bring it back up to it's former glower.

Last time I inquired a year or so back, Schuck's (Kragan's) quoted me something like $900 for a short block (not including core charge), and $1300 for a long block (not including the core charge)...the price was the same for either forged or cast crank mills....

Hey

I saw some milling shop selling rebuilts on eBay. The lower half was priced about 350 bux (fixed price, "buy it now") and I also saw rebuilt heads for something like 150 bux (post 7something head, cast sparkplug tubes) give it a shot, try searching slant 6 and slant six (something you find good stuff this way!)

Hey -Just thought I'd throw in my two cents----I bought one of those motors from this guy listed on ebay. Good guy to deal with-- good one the shipping ( from Indiana). I've put some hypo stuff on his short block and had very good sucess! They are bore over .040, and I believe that the crank is turned. You can't have it machined for that 350 bucks! buy it now!!
