hello all im looking for input i went all over the froums reading about came shafts ect i own a 1980 aspen 4 door auto
i want to do a header cam work over the head and intake
plane on a shift kit and some rear gears
my think is when looking at headers what works and what dosnt (not much out there for my beloved f body )
also when picking a camshaft whats is the rull of thump on a slant six i want something that will have that hot rodish shound at idle
when sizing a carburetor on a slant whats the norm for them
now when it comes to head work one thing i couldnt seam to find much on was vlave info can you over size them ? if so what do you pick
my gole with car is a weekend car that i take to shows and beat up on my buddys 80s crown vics (LOL) and i want to keep the car stock looking i saldy let it sit for about 7 years it was my grand mothers and she got it new ....now i dont want it to sit any more and bring it back to life any help is a thanks (sorry for the poor grammer)

I believe that you're seeing no replies to your questions as all of your questions have been answered at length in previous threads. The grammar and spelling probably hurt your appeal for help as well. SpellCheck is built in and free.

I would take a big step back from your parts list and answer the following questions:

1. What do I like about this car?
2. What do I not like about this car?
3. What aspects of this car and it's performance would I like to change?
4. What is my level of mechanical skill and experience?
5. What is my budget?

Hate to say this but your cheapest power increase may well be a motor swap to a V8. Otherwise a super six 2bbl, shave the head for some increased compression ratio, have a good 3 angle valve job done. Cheaper results? Get weight out of the car. Ditch the spare tire, strip out all the unneeded stuff, etc. Before doing anything motor wise - have a compression test done.

I went back and read your post twice more. To me it appears the best option you have is to do a complete tune up on your car, fix all the leaks, put some good brakes and tires on it, and leave it totally stock to make it a reliable daily driver. Save up your money and buy another car to make a weekend toy out of and leave this one stock.
