AS most of you that know me, I am a "motor mouth". I have a tendancy to leave my race car with the fan and water pump running, and go off BSing. I then have a low or dead battery.

I Just installed a solid state time delay relay, for the fan and WP. Turn the switch on and the units run, turn the swith off, and they shut off. Turn the switch on and forget to turn it off, and they shut off automatikly after a delay of (setable) 10 sec to 15 minutes.

How is that wired up Charlie? I probably need to get me one of these. Do you just trigger your relays through this?

Rick

Click this link, http://www.airotronics.com/site/product ... on_TBL.php scroll down to the wiring dia. Where it says "load 1 anp" that is my existing relay. The toggle sw goes to the + terminal, and the TDR switches the ground of the relay.
I had to special order them for this configuration. Took about 6 weeks, but the company was great to work with. I do have an extra unit.

Just updating this thread. TnT at greencove dragway on Aug 6th 2016 ran a best of 7.843 at 85.17 in the 1/8, on nitrous. Had the car to Wilkesboro in Aug, and ran a 8.004 at 84.29 mph on nitrous. Since I will be not be able to travel, to slant six meets, I have had a friend start driving. At his first TnT on Sep 9th, was going 14.3's and 14.4's at 90 mph in the 1/4, on motor.
Broke my rule of being frugal (cheap) and bought a new set of slicks (cost $358) Last night in the 1/8 he made 7 passes with a best of 8.97 and a worst of 9.011 on motor, in the 1/8.

Went to the final meet at Green Cove Dragway, on Sat. First time out since Clay Ciy. Had Steven Adams driving. Made one motor run at. 9.0x, then turned on the bottle. He had never driven the car on nitrous, before. Five passes, slowest was 8.001, quickest was 7.891 Car ran flawless. Now need to work on getting it a little more consistant, but wasn't really too bad.

Sounds good Charlie! Also sounds like it went back on the trailer under it's own power too. :D

Actually, Gainesville is closer, but they don't have a consistant TnT/bracket schedule. Green Cove ran every weekend, Sat/Sun in the winter, and Fri nite/Sat nite during the summer. Gainesville is 1/4 mile, Green Cove is 1/8 mile. 1/8 is cheapER TO RUN FOR TESTING, AND WILL GENERALLY TELL YOU MOST EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. I doubt the track will reopen, They had a year to year lease, and Volkswagen offered a rediculas amount of money for a two year lease, with another two year option. They are going to park new vehicles there.

I say go for it! You already have the engine out so its the perfect time for the converter & you will want those gears afterwards!

:?:

Motor is not out, running just fine. I have a 4,000 converter, and 3.91 gears in the car, now.
