The interesting part of the whole thing was the difference between the 1 barrel and the Super 6, That's useful data for many slanters.
+ 10 hp for 318 BBD (on Super 6 manifold), .
So running a 318 BBD carb versus the standard BBD carb is worth 10 hp?

It's the holes in the butterflies, just like the holes in the White Castle burgers let the flavor out. :D

The 318 and 225 carbs will give same HP. Only minor differences.

Anyone want to guess what the larger BBD (I got one from a 361 industrial engine) or a larger 2bbl would do as opposed to running a 4bbl?

Carter BBD, Holley 2210, 2245 should work out similar to the Holley 2300 0-7448... that being said there is no way to recalibrate the larger carbs as they don't use some of the same hard parts at the common 4 barrel counterparts (the 318 BBD can use some jets and rods from an AFB, but the large big block BBD has a different set of jets - the one I have from a 4132 dump truck is)... the 2245 used the same jets as the Holley 2300/4150, but you cant just bolt on a new metering block to change the emulsion tubes, etc... to get it perfect for the little slant....

These carbs if they work should do slightly better than the small BBD, maybe even with a Holley 390 and close to the Holley 1848 450 cfm carb, but will be less that the AFB 500, Holey 4412- 500 2 barrel, or Holley 600 cfm carb... that being said, it would be interesting to see if the big BBD gets OK gas mileage on the small engine....

That's all the encouragement I need.... no expectation that it will work, but I may learn a bit in the process.. Thanks DI, your depth of experience with a variety of carburetors is impressive and helpful.

You will learn more than you think you will, and that's what it's all about...
