I am having difficulty in making clean welds after applying weld through
primer on the work pieces. I got a good name brand weld thru
primer because I suspected one might have trouble with a cheepo
brand.

Does this always happen when using primer with a MIG welder?

Any way I am about to sand (or sandblast) off the primer where I
need to make the welds - Any other easier ideas?

Thanks -

I believe weld thru primer is only intended to be used with a spot welder.
