I have a '74 Plymouth Scamp I got recently and the headroom is very limited. What is the normal headroom for a guy 5'-11"?

Thanks

I have a re'bunned' bench that used to be in my '76 parts car, it was so padded my head hit the headliner when sitting in the car (I'm 6' 3"...).
My buckets in the Feather Duster sit lower and I have about 4" before my head hits top end....

I have the bench seat and it is limited. We are reupholstering so maybe I can get it lower somehow. Any suggestions? I thought about cutting and welding the frame but there isn't much there to work with in the first place.

Thanks.

If youre rebuilding the seat from ground-up, you can relocate the S-spring mounts, chop the floor track pedestals, and lower the dimples in the floor where the seat mounts. I would not suggest using thinner padding. Your back will be killing you on long cruises. D. Idiot has a point; you might be better off with buckets if you sit tall in your Scamp.

Let's see, the wife is 6'4,6'6 if she does her hair. with my stock 63 buckets we have plenty of head clearance, despite some added padding, as opposed to my sons Jaguar where we stick her out the sunroof!
