Installing Clifford 4V intake and shorty headers on new studs, with brass nuts lubed with copper anti-seize.

Remflex 6008 exhaust gasket lists 5-7 Ft Lbs on package, for a 50% gasket crush.

FSM torque spec. lists 10 Ft Lbs.

Which should I go by?

Currently I have torqued to nuts on new studs and brass nuts to 60 inch lbs. = 5 Ft Lbs. I don't want to have to deal with vacuum leak during initial engine brake-in.

Don't listen to me, as I never even think about going as low as 10 ft-lbs. Note that I am running split headers (like yours) or Dutra Duals on all of my cars. I think the low numbers really apply to use of the factory (long a$$) exh manifold. Probably anything over 5 ft-lbs is fine, and I would probably start at 7 ft-lbs. I do mine in multiple steps and I never use a torque wrench. I cannot say I never have leaks, but they are always on the exh ports and usually because something is not flat.

5-7 is a good start. 10 is a good number... if you incrementally torque over a long period you can get up to 15 with the
remflex before the material cracks/splits and is done...
