Burning about a quart every thousand miles. There are no fluid leaks in the car whatsoever (spotless stall in the garage).

Getting a compression tester soon to check that angle, but in the meantime what amount of oil loss (say over 1k miles) should make me park the car? Will check the plugs at the time I do the compression test.

Still runs great, engine has over 100k miles.

Brandon

What do the spark plugs look like?

I'd just keep running it if you're not fouling any spark plugs.

Could be rings, valve guides, or a slight leak. I ran my daily for years with that kind of consumption. Your spark plugs will tell a tale.

1000 miles/qt is no big deal, in my book. Unless you have 1 or 2 oil fouled plugs (I doubt it) or really low compression, then just run it.
