Well,

it was a good 'small meet', I got to meet new board member 'Pentastruck', he has a great start on a project!

All in al it was a nice group of about 8 cars, I had the only 'modified' car there (Hyperpak really sticks out when everyone else is running super sixes...). just the intake alone got me double points in the Hi-Performance competition....

Anyhow, after having a short talk with Jack Poehler of the SSCOA and him trying to 'strong arm' me into going to his meetings, and he took a couple of 'pokes' at me for having a 'weak tranny' (A-833OD), and making a quick comment on 'you can't put new technology on old engines like these' after talking to a guy in length about Fuel Injection resources....
It really hammered home (like a bent rod out the side of the block...), that here, we do a good job of helping others out, working on what works or providing resources that others may have when someone wants 'off' of the beaten path. Gotta put the good word in to Doc and Chuck for providing such a good platform to work from. So far, I almost feel that the change of the guard has occured and Jack's not happy that he's left behind....

I had a good time otherwise and told others about our board and they were welcome to join if they had a computer, or knew of a kid with one...

anyhow, THANKS' DOC and CHUCK!!!

p.s. time to get Jack's goat and get a slant put together with fuel injection and a crank trigger.....

Glad to hear it went well DI! I was hoping I could get away and make it down there but I have a ton of work to do and wasn't able to escape.

Building a fuel injected slant is exactly what I plan on doing (I have it all figured out in my head), but I just can't find the time or money to get a new project going.

I hope that if the slant six news ever starts being published again that it will have a good tech section about new technologies.

I'm going to see if we can get a few Portlanders/Oregonians to go north again this year with me. Don't worry Reed, just get your platform, and keep stuffing parts (I call them easter eggs...), and you'll be back with a vengeance....

Please keep us posted of when the SSCOA Seattle meet is happening, as I think Jack is only giving Oregon guys, Oregon dates....

While waiting to say goodbye to Jack before I left (had to take off early, family obligation...), I watched him take $10 from a new member and tell the guy to grab a back issue off the table as "There won't be any new issues coming out..."

This is one of those times where I wish a guy like Bob rolled up the road five minutes later and asked 'Where to I park?!?!?'.... That is exactly what I'm salivatin' about!!!!!

I notice Jack's son had installed an HEI module on his Aspen R/T, and jack has completely bypassed his ballast resistor with jumpers...LOL

Well, it is June so us Seattle area guys should be getting a flyer in the mail for the Summer meet. Either Reed or I will let you know. At least I hope we get one! I'll have to cut out of work early, but I'll be there if there is.

:D Ditto what Eric said. For the next 8 weeks I am going to be cramming for the bar exam and then taking the bar exam, but I will try to block out enough free time to make it to the meet.

Getting SL6 info out to everyone is a special part of the "Slant Six Mind" and the internet is a great way to do just that. Everyone who posts is helping the cause deserves a big THANKS!

I also owe Jack P. a big thank-you for all he has done for the Slant Six "cause" in the past but times have changed.
In the 21st century we have EFI, the Internet and Slants that run 9 second ETs, this stuff is here to stay. :D

Most important, just enjoy the hobby. We are lucky to have cars we can work on and a great group of interesting people willing to share information and "brainstorm" new ideas.
