I bought a new high pressure hose for the power steering, powercraft #70337. It didn't seem to fit. I compared it to the old one, and it is not the same. Looked at another powercraft #70337, no luck. Same as the first.

The guy at the parts counter was very nice and got out the book with all the pictures. He flipped through the whole book trying to find a hose that looked like the original. No luck.

So, I took the one I bought back home and tried again. Still no fit. The metal tube part at the pump side of the hose seems to twist the wrong way. They bend towards the pulley on the pump. I couldn't attatch the pump side.

I got the bright idea of bending the tubes around to make it fit. I have a little tubing bender I got for making brake lines. That stuff is tuffer than brake lines!!! It was very hard to bend and I ended up kinking the tube. I got pissed and threw the hose. It is now hanging in the tree in my front yard.

So, who makes a better hose and where do I get it? Or am I just too ignorant to correctly install a perfectly good hose? I am usually pretty good at fixing things myself, but I have overlooked very simple things before...

Well, I found a place in town that will make me a new one. They can make it to match the old one. I am getting it done tonight. I will let you all know how it works out.
