Hey guys

After my exhaust swap, I smell fuel after a while of OT (not WOT) let's say when hitting hard on the gas at 50 and speeding up to 75 - 80 (I'm not flooring it, not even near) But I don't know if I should blame that on my new ex 'cuz I did some tune up along with the ex replacement. I changed spark plugs, I cleaned the carb (ain't leaking) and I installed a new distributor. :?

I'll appreciate any comment on this matter.
Juan.

You smell fuel with the engine running and the car moving down the road? :?

What carb are you working with?
Are there any exhaust system leaks/
How does the tailpipe exit the rear of the car, straight back or off to the side?
DD

Hey Doc

No ex leaks, and the pipes are straight back (one on each side)
I'm working with a single barrel holley, but not the 1920. It's similar, with bigger venturi, bigger throat, more CFM and more bowl capacity. It says holley 1922, but I think that's a local version of the 1920.
Today I lowered the bowl level (regulated the float) and seems to be better... maybe it was just too "fat" ? :?

Could be your float bowl vent isn't closing when you open the throttle. Its only supposed to be open at idle and when the engine is shut off.

I don't know why, but my email doesn't seem to work half the time. I didn't even get a bounce notice?

That why I'm posting as a guest.

Thanks! but mine hasn't that vent. It's a holley licensed carb manufactured in Argentina, then modifyed to get 300 CFM plus outta it. It's a manufacturer's modification, not custom. Maybe I can post some pix... That explains why I made a fool outta myself with the question.
