Hi there

Just a quick question: does anyone know if the lenses for a 1967 Plymouth Satellite or GTX will interchange with the Belvedere? I was told by an autowrecker that they are slightly different but I thought I'd look for another opinion. Keisler Automotive sells them new but only lists them as GTX or Satellite; I've emailed them about this but never got a response. Anyone out there know?

thanks in advance.

chris

There were at least 3 different lens configurations I've seen, between 66 and 67. They look different but will swap if you find a matched pair. The GTX and 67 Satellite used a special bezel with thin bars going across the top and bottom of the lens, and the center of the lens is concave. The Belvedere I and II use a plain square lens without the bars. The 66 Satellite used a lens with 3 raised rectangular sections. I'm sure there were more variations, but those are the ones I know.
BTW, my grandpa bought my dad a brand new 67 GTX (which was our family car when I was little!), so I figure Dad owes me a Viper! :D
And yes, he still has the GTX.

Above info is correct. Just add the station wagon lense was different, narrower.
I think the ones Keisler has are repos, made about 4 years ago. The cost of nice original Satellite/GTX lenses are out of sight.
At the '91 Mopar Nats in Columbus OH, someone had about 25 NOS right side Belvedere I/II lenses, $25 each. Like an idiot, I only bought 1 :( (I have a '67 Belvedere II although it's not slant 6 powered).

I guess I'm not too concerned how original I go here, as long as the Keisler lenses fit my Belvedere I bezel. The picture on their website looks nice...it's either that, or I attempt something "custom" (pronounced cheap!) by using some sheetmetal to block off the factory opening and an aftermarket 4" round light, possibly LED aka large truck replacement

thanks for your input
