I am researching what my plan will be on my transmission build
My ? Is with trans go kit stg2 vs stg3
I am wanting to know on stg 2 if I shift 1st to 2nd and run up the RPMs all the way up to 5000-6000
in the 1/8mile will it stay in 2nd or shift it self to drive ?

With either shift kit you can hold a gear as long as you want. If you want it to shift automatically at a certain RPM that's a little harder to dial in and you might end up changing governor weights.

I shift at 6300 with a 4.10 gear and 30" tires. I cross the 1/8th in 2nd. I go into high at the 1000' mark.

So if it will hold gear with stg 2 and I plan street // strip
Then stg 2 seams like a better way to go

I'll let others answer that. I never use the TransGo stuff.

I have Griner valve bodies in everything. My trans guy is the manufacturer now.

Stage 3 in Transgo is a full manual shift up an down. Put the shifter in d and it will try and take off in 3rd.

If I were having a street car and running more than a couple hundred miles a year, I would probably go stage 2. It this is a race car, with high stall convertor, low gears......etc, and it is only going to get run on the road a few times a year then go for a stage 3. Just so long as you don't mind always shifting manually, up and down, and it will shift harsh.
