I have a 1973 s6 w/84k miles on Iwant to build a reliable street mill with a solid 300 hp at the flywheel and still retain driveability and all my power accessories. is there anyone out there who can give me some help? I'd like the hp to be betwwen 1,000-5500rpm and the torque to be between 800-4100rpm. The engine will be connected to a keisler 5spd and 3.91 8 3/4 rear . thanks chuck68

Car Model:
Turbo or Cetrifugal Supercharger. MPI with something like FAST, Megasquirt or Electromotive TEC 3. 10-15# of boost should put your in the ballpark.

Just my .02 worth.

Wow, sounds like a fun project!

For street use and low speed power, forced induction is the way to go.
As for the engine build-up, nothing really special is needed to support 300 HP.

I would start with a forged crank engine and use some good quality pistons. Be sure to surface (skim cut) the block deck and the head, you may want to use head studs just to keep the head gasket sealed under boost.
