Ceej,

What was the final weight you arrived at after cutting, before magging?

Any chance there is an update on this crank? Balance? And any way possible you could post the pictures again? Thanks :D

Well snicker-doodles.

I thought that low hour crank would be the shizbit. I asked Andy to mag it before spending any actual moolah. The #6 journal had a nasty crack, pretty much clean around the back of the journal. Apparently running the big CVT in the J-D Windrower didn't go easy on that crank. It was almost at balance with my second pass with the grinder though.

Note to self. Mag the crank before starting the slice and dice. Call that a trial run.

I think this answers the question... Unless you're asking about his second attempt...

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind seeing the pictures again. :D

I don't know if Bobby saved the pics....

I haven't started in on round two. Got sucked down some different rabbit holes of late.

As the weather improves, I'll start slinking around my slant six parts pile again...

And you'll need to let me know when so I can perhaps come down for round #2.

I'll take a look and see if I can find the pics. Being 3 years ago, chances are slim; but ya just never know! :D

This crank was lightened by the Cox brothers, years ago...
I was told it did not last long.

If you really want a light SL6 crank, just find the 84 -87 cast crank and do some clean-up and re-balancing work to it.
