Doc thanks for the picture it really clears things up. The tube in the picture looks like brass fuel line for model airplanes. I have some of this and it is a lot stiffer than the copper oil gauge tube, it just kinks easier in tight radiuses. I will try making one with that. If I cant get a new/rebuilt six hole oil pump what is the rebuild kit part number?

Any small, stiff wall tube will work. the copper tubing can be used if you solder on a stiffing plate to reinforce it.

Melling K66A for the 5/8 thick impeller size.

Well I had the local parts store look up the oil pump. No six bolt pumps available. He tried Melling and Fed Mog, nothing, all five bolters. :x He did find the part number for the Melling rebuild kit but nothing in the warehouse. I have a couple of other alternatives, I will try CarQuest and Crapa tomorrow, and see what channels my machinist can come up with. If push comes to shove, can I buy a five hole'r and swap all of the guts to the six hole housing?

Just watch out for impeller thickness differences, most 5 hole pumps use the 7/8 thick impeller.

If I am reading this thread correctly, one can not spray oil directly in to the oil pump gears without a 6 bolt pump. Is this correct? The pump I have is a 7/8 Melling pump.

Yes, 6 bolt pumps have 3 sealed pockets, the unused "third pocket" will be used to mount the spray tube and channel oil pressure to.
5 bolt pumps only have 2 sealed pockets so they will not support this mod.

I understand that with out the 6 bolt pump the mod pictured can not be done, but is there some other place I can tap into the spray oil onto the gear?

On my block, there isn't even a pocket for the six hole pump to mount up with (there was some casting flash, which I ground off. Looking at it, I'd say you should be able to drill the hole and plumb it with an external oil line fed from a standard five bolt pump. Maybe the pictures will explain what I mean a little more clearly:
