Does anyone know of an electrically operated servo that would open and close a vacuum line? Any application, any brand, any car. I am trying to wire in an idle step up on my EFI for the AC. If I can introduce a slight vacuum leak when I turn on the AC, the RPM will go up a couple hundred RPM. I am imagining a servo with a vacuum port on each end that would either open or close with the introduction of 12V. Thanks for any info along this line.

Your throttle body doesn't have an IAC motor to let the Prom know to let a 'little' air in and bump the rpm up 2-400 rpm?

I know a few 'smog era' Ford land barges have what you're looking for, but I don't have one or a part number...time for a 'junkyard run'?

Sounds like you're getting thing 'dialed in' pretty good there, Dart!

The Buick TB does have an IAC, but it is more complex than on-off. Mega squirt only has on/off. I was going to try to control a relay that the ECU also turned on when it was cold. Things are gettin better. Right now coming off idle when letting the clutch out feels different from a carb car. If the RPM drops below 800 RPM the heart goes out of it. With the carb, you could literally let the clutch out, and never touch the gas, and the car would roll away in first gear. Try that with the EFI,and it dies. The carb had a low grunt to it, that the EFI does not. It has more grunt above 1000RPM, but not below. I have a suspicion this is tuning of some kind.

Two suggestions. Most cars from the '80's used a throttle kicker solonoid, electrical, no vacumm. Also, don't know what other models, but 78 up to at least 89, Volare, Aspen, Diplomat, 5th Ave, all had two electriclly opered vacumm switching valve, located on the firewall. The were used for emisions controls. A lot of Fords, used electrical vacumm switch valves for EGR, and air injection control. I have a couple universal valves on my vehicles, for different things, but I don't have the manufacturer/part number handy.

Those are helpfull hints Charlie. I guess I may have to go to the junk yard here one day soon. They are getting fewer and farther between here on the East coast, where the tax laws make it hard to keep an old car on the lot.

I checked on the universal one, like I have on my car. Cannot get you a part number, they have been discontinued. If you can't get something in your area, I still have a source, locally, and could ship you one. They are in the neiborhood of about $25. When I got mine they were about $15.

I found a servo for opening the charcoal canister purge line on a fairly new Ford Windstar in the junkyard. It is normally closed, and open when charged, which is what I was looking for. I will let you know how it works out.
