I need a thermostat housing/water outlet that points straight out. I noticed on Ebay that other Mopar outlets point straight out. Will any of those fit a slant?

Yup When I purchased my slant roadster it was using the below thermostat housing. A little tricky lining up the thermostat. You can hold it centered with a pair of needle nose while bolting it on.

Can't really say without trying it but looks similar. If the thermostat housing gasket for the 440 is the same part number as the slant six then it would likely work. Maybe it's just the chrome/photo but it doesn't look like much of a lip for the hose.

Thebearded1 has it. I believe'89-up SB V8 Chrysler is the range. I have bought and used several of those.

Go to Rock auto and look up a thermo housing for an 86-92 Taurus, 3.0 V6. (There's four listed, but one is straight.) The pic is crappy, but I found one in a salvage yard many moons ago that I only needed to enlarge the bolt holes and it fit liike it was made for it.

I did the research and ruled these out. They are something like 83mm c-c and the slant is 71mm.

New thermostat housing for later V-8 car works fine except you need to drill the mounting holes out to slant 6 size. Mine came from Summit ( Summit Racing Part Number: FSS-84909 ).

78-older SB takes same T stat as the 440 application above.
79-up SB takes same T stat as /6.
