Exactly how much horsepower does the air injection pump use up? I was thinking about unhooking it since it be a while before we get around to sticking the 318 in the D-150. I will make do with the slant for the next 50,000 miles. Does it move enough air so that you could hook it up to the air cleaner and make some sort of forced induction system. I know it sounds crazy but it might work.

If you don't have to worry about having the truck 'smog' checked, DEQ'd, inspected for emissions, then just plug the hole in the head, and remove the air pump... it doesn't pump enough air for 'forced induction', it just provides enough air to help the catalytic convertor burn up any 'leftovers' in the exhaust system....
