I took my car out for a run with the 4.86 gears in it. And much to my surprise, while the car felt fine, my air fuel was at about 11.5-11.8. I had last driven it and was pretty close to 12.5 A/F ratio. The only thing I did since I only have a 5 gallon tank is filled it with gas. I generally run a 110 & 93 pump gas mixed 50/50.This time I did the same thing, but the station that I got the gas from only has 93 in ethanol free. So is it possible that the 100% gasoline in the car now richened my mixture? Or am I missing something?

PS. I did go up 2 steps in the air jet and the A/F reacted well coming in at about 12.3 or so.

When you say run, you mean on the street?

Was the weather / air temperature incredibly different than last time you observed the AFR?

Not sure that I have any thoughtful response.

Yes, drove it down the road. I have always had license and insurance on my car. Just no PA inspection. Getting ready to just go ahead and get antique tags, then you don't need any inspection, ever.

As for the weather it may be a little warmer, 70 compared to maybe 50 degree, with a little less humidity.

Yes, the no alky gas will make it go richer.

I used to be able to get the no a stuff here. When I couldn't anymore I had to jet up.

Car is all washed and loaded (interior) with all the stuff I carry to the races. I filled the tank and put it on Ryan's scales and it weighed 2790 pounds with me on board. 90 pounds above the class weight to try and catch Gary Bruner's record of 7.87. I have gone 8.06 and now that my engine is running on 6 cylinders :D :D I should be pretty close. 4.86 gears on board feels really good too! :D :D

Sounds great, Rick. The air looks really good for Fri and Sat at Motormile.

The car ran well at Motor mile, but the conditions were no condusive to setting records. I found out that I am not fond of no prep racing. :D 60' times were anywhere from 2.1 to 1.78 seconds depending on whether or not it had some traction. normal for me is in the 170-1.72 range. 1st run it spun badly, so I short shifted and went sideways in second, but still ran a 8.45 at 82.5. ET's ranged from 8.45 down to 8.19 lifting against Lou in the final when I still broke out.

Although I am not at all sure, I may have been better off with the 4.30 gears? Car ran over 83 MPH several times which is near all time bests.
