I have similar timing set. It is now set to "O" when I installed a new OGC cam a year ago. I like to get the power band moved a little to low rpm. Before other tricks I have planned to set my cam advanced.

If I like to get the cam from 110 center to 106 do I choose +4 or -4 slot from the low chain wheel?

Those are nice sets.

Bottom Gear tends to be tight and sometimes needs a little Dremel work to be a nice / not too tight press fit.

I Believe you wu=ill want to use the +4 setting to advance the cam.

Lou and other skookum engine builders should confirm this.

I also think it is +4. I always degree all my cams now to check. I also use the bushings and a drilled cam gear pin hole instead of the keyways in the crank sprocket. Too hard to get the sprocket on and off.

Thanks. I will do some measurements. However I will try not lift the head off as I have head gasket in order after one nice summer with boost. Probably the Felpro stuck to newly machined surfaces. I had up to 0.9 bar pressures without rings. If I open it and the next gasket will blow immediately I hate myself...

I have a permanently installed (and checked timing wheel on the damper so I can check cam by following the rocker arm adjusting bolt.



This gear set went well to -76 225 forged crank but was not possible to fit to -65 170 without dremeling it a lot. There it is and the loose fitment is not problem as there is a crank bolt pushing the damper.

I always use a bushing, also. Agree on it not making sense to pull the crank sprocket.

As the set with 2 degree slots was overtight to my 170 crank I made it so loose I dont need tools to remove it. It doesnt matter as the damper with a bolt does all friction needed. Anyway it is neeeded to remove damper to get timing cover removed etc.
