Hi all,

It's been a couple of years but I'm finally back on my 68 Dodge A100 and having rewired it I can now drive it. However the Carter 2bbl I have on it (I might have bought from Dan or some other kind soul up here but cannot actually remember at the present moment) runs poorly if I hit the gas too hard. Before I start fiddling about too much I wanted to check the stock jet sizes for a carter on a super six set up, so I can ensure I'm starting from somewhere sensible.

What I mean by 'poorly' is a big flat spot, almost a stall in the low/middle rev range if I hit the gas pedal too sharply. All advice welcome.

Thanks, Jamie.

I would start by confirming that the accelerator pump is working as it should. A falter upon sudden throttle opening could be a lean bog or a rich stumble... IF you can comfirm that the accelerator pump is introducing a good shot of fuel when the throttle is opened (engine off) then you can move on to trying to trouble shoot if you have a lean bog or a rich stumble..

The main jet does not do anything until about 2000 RPM as the Venturi needs air velocity to create a low pressure area to begin siphoning fuel..

FTR, I don't have a record of having sent a carburetor to the UK. But I agree with Jase: I don't think you have a jetting problem.

Thanks Dan, you have been a huge help previously so it's you I remember. I'll go fettle the accelerator pump.
