Does anyone know the difference between the column shift 65 Slant Six 904 and the column shift 65 V8 273 904 transmission?
Other than the bellhousing size difference, will the cables work from a Slant to the 273?

Basically the slant six 904 and the 273 904 are the same. The "bellhousing" part of the case is different, and (I don't remember for sure) the v-8 904 had one more clutch plate/disc.
PS: the 65 904 is a 1 year only transmission (six or eight). They can be interchanged with 60-64 904's with some minor mods. But some internal parts are different from a rebuilding standpoint.
