You can see by eye that is a big cam. Can't wait to see this combo run.

For sure. It's in the pipeline of big work to get done. The valve issues on the Grüne Hölle Engine have set me back a week or 2.

Not sure if It will be sorted by Mason Dixon this year.
I Need to Reinforce or re engineer that engine plate too, before I track it for real.
We shall see!

It seems life and other things got in the way.
Ruster did nothing in 2025 except sit in the garage and some Halloween duty.

A few weeks ago I began to dis-assemble the front clip, drain fluids etc.
I got the new converter installed. Now I have to put the new cam in as well as replace the bent engine plate.
I am going to tidy up some electrical things as well as engineer a fore - aft limiter system for the engine so the new block plate does not bend with the hit on the trans brake launch sequence.

I might have found my electrical cutout as well. In Sept 2024 when I was racing at Knoxville, the Car developed some sort of electrical cut which I believe was a loose connection on my oil pressure warning cutout switch. This loose connection would have cut voltage/ current to the megasquirt and in doing so caused a misfire.

Tomorrow I hope to get some time on the cam and block plate installed.

Engine Out, Getting the Gumby plate off of there soon.

I had a light Converter in the car, but the new one weighs a bit more :-( But if the car is faster, then I am okay with that.

Made a bit of progress today.
Got the engine plate, all of the front drive bits and accessories removed. I also got the timing cover off along with the damper.

Next time I should be able to pull the head and remove the original cam .

Nice, Greg. FWIW, I usually leave the head on when I swap cams.

Yes typically I would do that but how to check the piston to valve clearance with the head on is my dillemma.

Just swap out one exhaust valve spring with a checking spring. Spin her over and check it around your TDC position. That is usually where our problem is. If you have plenty of room I would opnly do one. Now if it was close....... maybe I check more?? If you drop the valve, oh well, you wanted to pull the head anyway! :D :D Good luck Greg!

That might work with a lawnmower cam, but real cams can get cozy on the intake side after TDC......
