By proposing to take 2 slant sixes, flip them back-to-back and making a 450 CID V-12?

I've been pondering this thought for a very long time.

Now before everybunny rants at me how that can't be done, I do not actually mean to destroy 2 perfectly good slant six blocks.

I would scan a block, make a CAD model that also incorporated all of the necessary changes [because, obviously flipping a block backward simply could never work anyhow], so that it could be bolted up to the same 727 or 4 speed bellhousings as any big block MOPAR would use, and it would, by default, have 2 separate cam shafts, but also, I would build some matching hemispherical combustion heads [because there ACTUALLY WAS ONE such hemi-[vertical]-six made by Chrysler at on point, as an experimental motor], and make an advanced alloy casting, including cross bolting.

The really wide mains, with enough extra webbing material, and a custom forged 12 cylinder based crank could really be a lot of fun.

Also, with HEMI heads, it would be a cross-flow head with the intake in the middle and the exhausts on each side.

I'd begin with a 450 CID base model, and gradually engineer it up to at least 660 CID [kinda like a 440, only with a 50% more cylinders], possibly take it all the way to 1200 CID...

Might even make an aluminum block version with aluminum heads and intake...with a blower-ready adapter...

I wonder if people would like it, or hate it... ~( ,m,)~

If you are going to go to those extreams, why not go further? Legthen the block(s), use bigger bore/bore centers (allows bigger valves/ports), shorten stroke (more rpm). Or buy something like this

It would probably be cheaper

Or, y'know, instead of all that heavy-duty, high-dollar ironmongery, you could…oh, gosh, just blue-skying here, just spitballing…go troll somewhere else on the internet, child.
