Thanks, Lou. Since I will have to pull the 727 anyway, I will probably also pull the 225 at the very least to clean and reseal it and clean the engine compartment. I can pop the flex plate off and get an accurate measurement of the crank hub then. I will get the spacer pocket machined .001 oversized.

Brewers says 2.160" flywheel register diameter, which sounds right to me. Just another data point and probably reliable.

Thanks, Lou. That sounds right to me. As soon as I can pry more free time away from work I will continue with this experiment. 2.161 might be the target diameter for the bore

I think 2.160" is the flywheel ID, so that is likely the target. The crank will be slightly smaller.

I have a couple of 122t, /6 flywheels here in the garage, I was gonna take one of those with me for them to measure and match that diameter for my /6 to V8 trans adapter spacer .. easier than pulling an engine and a crank for that purpose....

Thanks. It makes sense that the flex plate hole diameter is the measurement that the spacer should match.

Don has the right idea! If you get a reliable measurement (say, with a micrometer or calibrated caliper), Don, then you can share with Reed.

Yeah I was just going thru some OLD PMs a couple of days ago and I see back when I got my adapter setup I had exchanged a couple of PMs with Reed on this very thing, asking him for the same kind of info ... Because I remember him having previously mentioned somewhere on the forums that he actually had a set.
I see that we have both gotten exactly as far as each other at this point in getting things done. I've been thinking about being able to get back to mine here recently... I do have an A500 that's apart and about halfway back together.... Clutch packs are done, OD is apart and waiting for me to get that part of the trans put back together. I got stopped by something I seen and didn't like so I ordered replacement for (a little deeper than the "pizza box" kit comes with), it got here and sat.
I didn't realize our PM file "kept" as long as some of what I saw in there
