Yeah, I think several of us would be turned off. Even with Clay City's issues last time or two, still better than that London fiasco. I've never seen Charlie or Rob get so mad. Very hard guys to get mad....

I was so pissed with the situation, I left Sunday morning (a day early). I will say the track did refund the days entry fee in cash rather than a "rain check".

If London and Clay City are off the table I would be inclined to go further east/south.

I have no idea if they would be willing to work with our little group of racers. The track is ~45' Elevation, however.

I think Clay City still seems the best location wise? Thinking of those in the midwest and Stan in Texas. East Coast would be much closer for me but I'd rather have more cars and a longer trip. One old man's opinion! :D

Likewise
Of all the slant six races, about the only track that probably wouldn't work for me, would be Mokan. Even though I would like to race there.

Clay City seems best to me geographically/centrally and has nostalgia/significance in our Slant 6 racing series for at least some of us.

We don't necessarily have to have a Mopar show to have a Slant race. Maybe CC can work us in a regular T&T/Bracket weekend. It's not like we consume a lot of time.

That would likely be better anyway. Not as many people there to gum up the works. The big events sometimes throw a wrench into the program running smoothly.

It looks like the IHRA really is going to re-open Atlanta Dragway this year (October?), and the North Georgia Mopar Club is planning to be there. Doesn't have to be the big slant six event, but I thought I'd mention it. Last time I was there the Dart ran a 19.7... I think I can do a little better this time.

It would be fun to try Atlanta sometime.

I like the idea of doing our big race at a normal bracket weekend at Clay City. I don't think coordinating with the now fairly small Mopar event (if there is one still) is worth it.

Any updates on the "big" race? Steven Adams will need to put in for vacation time, and I will need to make arrangements for my wifes care. Steve Adams wants to do some upgrades on his car, but doesn't want to get cought with the car in pieces.

Sorry folks. Haven’t logged in here in quite awhile. Lots going on and several things up in the air for me lately.

I will be heading back to KY next week for a few month break from WyoTech. Three months earlier than planned. Not sure what my schedule will shake out to on coming back to finish the last three courses.

If Clay City looks to be the favored venue, I will reach out to them about hosting a (2 day?) event for us.
They like us because we are small and WAY easier to work with than…. Basically any other class…

Are we thinking later in the year such as Octoberish…?

For me, the summer is getting very full, and it will be hot as @#$% in July or Aug anyway. Rob, great to hear you will be in KY for a bit and can help plan this.

Sept or Oct sound best to me. I don't care at all about coordinating with a Mopar event and am more interested in when our Slant 6 folks are most available.

I would like to make this a "Seymour Pederson Memorial/Reunion Race" to honor our pivotal friend and instigator of Slant 6 Racing.

Sorry I have not been more forward about organizing this. Life has been off da hook recently and I've had to focus on family and other things.

Slant on,
Lou
