You're not going to believe this:
I had offered to work a labor for parts trade to a shop owner. He had a 1964 Dodge aluminum "step" van, that someone had removed the slant six engine, and then lost a lot of the engine parts.
He decided to go with a Chevy V-8 engine/trans. Told me if I wanted to come and get the slant six/727 drive train. It has the factory adapter. Got it yesterday. Not sure if I want to sell it at this time.
Make me an offer, I can't refuse.

I don't believe it.

I think Lou has stepped up on the adapter.

Still looking for a Clifford.

I'm happy if you/he want to buy from Charlie instead. I do have a spare beyond the one I want to keep just in case.

Lou

I'm not sure I want to get rid of mine right now. I'm have some trouble working the clutch in my "84 D-100, so thinking of converting to a A-500 or A-518. So if Lou has an "extra" one, go for that.

Can someone take a picture of this adaptor, and It's thickness... a slant to small block adaptor might be useful in numerous ways... It seems they would be a great thing to reproduce...for an easy 904 to A-500 swap...

What's being talked about here was a factory Mopar setup before they decided to make a 727 with a dedicated /6 bell housing, but I seem to remember that some years ago there was a copy of sorts done up in aluminum (much lighter); and there was a group buy initiated, I don't remember how many buyers/"takers" took advantage of that deal once already.
There have been a few offers to somehow digitally copy an original copy and save it in hopes someone would do another run of these and to have another group buy but I think it fizzled out.
Being as how wilcap makes adapters to hook a. (ugh) GM trans to a /6. You'd think an adapter to a more natural choice which would be Mopar engine to Mopar trans would certainly be available.
I have one of the original sets of which I had to buy a complete engine and trans to get.
I since sold off the engine and trans after I pirated the "goods". But my set , too, is already spoken for as I have a /6 truck here, that's "wanting" it.

The aluminum one has long since stopped production. Not enough sales, and I think the drawings / program to make them was sold to someone and I have never heard any more about them. From everything I see the Mopar A-500 / A-518 are not as easy to get to work well. And if I remember correctly, Lou had 2 or 3 convertors done trying to get a high stall speed one to work right and none did. The GM overdrives are much more supported and adapters are available for them too.

I don't know how thick, 3/8, 5/16 something like that.
